Ana Frias in her little kitchen.

About Ana

Hi, I’m Ana! Here you’ll find a mix of recipes, my travels, peeks into my photography portfolio, and snippets of daily life. Join me as I update this website with more mouthwatering dishes, exciting travel adventures, and a glimpse into my world.

Cooking, trying new ingredients, and experimenting in the kitchen excite me more than anything else. I grew up cooking with my mom, dad, sisters and brothers. What can I say? Cooking is in our blood! Sharing my passion for cooking and baking – and inspiring others in the kitchen – is my greatest passion.

A Mexican American now living in Portugal!

I am a mother of two adult sons and wife to one, currently based in the Setubal Portugal, land of fresh foods, amazing seafood and sublime wine.  My husband and I recently moved to Portugal from Phoenix Arizona. I also lived in Sonora Mexico where I was born and raised.

I plan to share with you anything I find truly worthy of a place in the kitchen.  It may be an ingredient, a wine, a recipe – anything that enhances our escapades in the kitchen and makes our taste buds smile.

I also run a Mexican food blog where I share recipes from my native country. Muy Delish is my bread & butter and I welcome you to check it out!

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site and try my recipes! It means the world to me.

I believe healthy doesn’t have to be boring. I’m here to share simple, flavorful recipes that make healthy eating something you’ll love.

FAQ

I started learning how to use my film camera back in 2000! I took photography classes at my university and even learned to develop film in the dark room. From there I discovered that I loved photographing people. I ran a children & family portrait photography business for 20 years! Then I transition to food photography only in 2020. Once I decided to focus on Muy Delish.

For food photography I use Sony 7R with a 24-70 lens & a 90 macro lens. For my portraits I still use my good ol’ Nikon D800 with a 85mm 1.4 lens.

I used to rely entirely on natural light for my food photography, it taught me a lot about observing light and working with what I had. But to keep things consistent and shoot on my own schedule, I now use artificial light. I currently shoot with the Godox AD600 Pro II, which gives me full control over lighting no matter the time of day.

I have done photography classes in the past but at this moment I don’t. However, I’m considering running a small in-person workshop in the future so stand by!
