These beef meatballs seasoning is perfect! A balance of garlic, parsley, oregano, and a touch of grated Parmesan cheese brings depth and richness to the meatball.

They have a nice bite but then they melt deliciously in your mouth. I make them at least once a month since they’re perfect for meal prep or enough for a second meal with the leftovers.

This is the kind of recipe that just calls you straight home to the dinner table, you know? I would totally serve these to guest for a dinner party! Easy to make, and easy to serve.

Whether you bake, fry, or simmer them in marinara sauce, the goal is to achieve a golden-brown exterior while maintaining a juicy, flavorful interior. Pair these meatballs with your favorite pasta or enjoy them on their own for a satisfying Italian meal.

How To Make The Meatballs

The ingredients for this recipe on a bowl ready to be mixed.

Basically this recipe has three prep steps:

Before you start, gather the ingredients: 96% lean ground beef, freshly grated Romano or Parmesan cheese, minced fresh garlic, italian bread crumbs, eggs, flat leaf parsley, kosher salt, ground black pepper and lukewarm water.

  1. In a large bowl add all ingredients (except olive oil and marinara sauce) and combine with your hands until everything is mixed through. Shape into 1 inch meatballs.

  1. Heat a large pot or skillet over medium high heat and sear meatballs in two batches using 1 tablespoon of olive oil each time. Turn the meatballs about 3 times and cook them 2 minutes per side. Note: Remove from heat and set aside on a plate. Repeat this process until all meatballs are cooked.

  1. On the same pot or skillet, add the marinara sauce and deglaze until all of the brown bits from the meat blend into the sauce.
  2. Return the meatballs to the pot and cook covered for an additional 30 to 45 minutes until soft.

Serve these healthy meatballs warm over spaghetti with my delicious homemade spaghetti sauce or over your favorite grilled veggie.

Ingredients 

  • 2 pounds 96% lean ground beef
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs - whisked
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons flat leaf parsley - finely chopped
  • 1 ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil (for searing the meatballs)
  • 8 cups homemade spaghetti sauce (or 2 jars of your favorite marinara sauce).
